It has 3 colors which are royal blue, scarlet red and white; the yellow sun with eight primary rays represents the country's first group of provinces namely Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Morong (now Rizal Province), Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Batangas and Cavite; The golden yellow stars, represents one of the country's three main island groups which are the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
This flag can indicate a state of war if it is displayed with the red side on top.
